The file farmmext.exe, known as www.farmmest.com, belongs to software FarmMext. This process is classified as a Transponder parasite that monitors the user's online activities and opens pop-ups based on what it sees. This browser helper object (BHO) is a crippling adware that is responsible, along with other programs that is downloaded into the PC, for endless pop-up advertisements that can considerably slow down Internet access, resulting to freeze and boot-up errors. The most common source of this adware is an Internet site that has been clicked somewhere on a Web page. Transponder parasites such as farmmext.exe goes along with the user while surfing the Internet, monitoring the click stream and building up reports that it sends to a server. It can compromise the privacy of the user since it collects all sorts of surfing habits, including Web sites visited, contents of online forms including those with SSH encryption, and stores cookies to identify the user across sessions.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. farmmext.exe. is used by FarmMext, If you shut down farmmext.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop farmmext.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is FarmMext, from your system.
