The file fapiexe.exe, known as FAPI, belongs to software FaxTalk Communicator by Thought Communications. FaxTalk Communicator is fax and voice messaging software that features central management of messages, send and receive fax capabilities, and speakerphone operation. With a compatible modem, this application can provide voice messaging, speakerphone and fax capabilities to the computer. This application includes support for personal greetings, fax on demand, TAPI, remote message retrieval, unlimited mailboxes, caller ID, distinctive ring, and may more. The features include a FaxTalk Configuration program that allows users to customize the application. The configuration settings are contained in five separate tabs that include General Settings, Announcement Settings, User Settings, Fax Settings and Modem Settings. The User Settings provide for the inclusion of the user ID information, automatic attachment of coversheet to messages and the choice of coversheet logo. FaxTalk Communicator uses TAPI (Telephony-Application Programming Interface) to communicate with the modem. The modem tabs include settings for send and receive fax speeds, modem speaker volumes, and Windows TAPI dialing options.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fapiexe.exe. is used by FaxTalk Communicator, If you shut down fapiexe.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fapiexe.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is FaxTalk Communicator, from your system.
