Most reviews by anti-virus programs identify the faceback.exe file as malware. Symantec recognizes this file as Downloader or Backdoor.Trojan. The location of this executable file is in the C:\Windows folder. Known sizes for the file include 114,176 bytes, 104,448 bytes, 102,912 bytes and 99,328 bytes with 42% occurrence. There is no visible window for this application. The process file appears as unknown on Windows folder. The program runs when you load Windows. The registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. The faceback.exe file can record inputs. It is associated with malicious software, cloaked malware and system back door. The process is encrypted or packed by software packing process. It can autostart programs upon system startup by adding a registry key [RUN]. It can execute a process and delete other process on disk. It communicates with other computer systems through HTTP protocols. It can hijack processes by writing on the virtual memory of another process. It can create new folders on your file system. It can read phonebook details and E-mail address. It looks into the contents of autoexec.bat file. It can visit Websites on your computer without your consent.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. faceback.exe. is used by Downloader or Backdoor.Trojan, If you shut down faceback.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
