What is ext2fs.sys
The ext2fs.sys file is a driver file. It is the process called Ext2 File System Driver that is used by the application Ext2 IFS for Windows XP created by Stephan Schreiber. A driver is a component of an application that can interact with hardware devices. The directory for ext2fs.sys file is C:\Windows\System32\drivers. Known sizes for this file include 132,736 bytes, 179,584 bytes and 181,120 bytes with 60% occurrence. You can access the driver under Services on the Windows Control Panel. This is not a visible program. The ext2fs.sys file has a digital signature from Stephan Schreiber with certificate issued by GlobalSign Time Stamping Authority. This process automatically starts with drivers installed. The ext2fs.sys file is a pure kernel mode system driver that extends the Windows system to include Ext2 file system.
