It enables the user to browse anonymously or change his identity while browsing the Internet. Anonymous browsing and the use of a different identity protects the computer and the user's personal information against hackers who may try to access the system. Expat Shield protects the user from identity theft by routing the Internet connection to a remote IP located in the United Kingdom. Users can connect or disconnect from the service any time by using the tray icon context menu. By launching Expat shield, the user is given a different IP address that protects his identity. The tool can be used to connect to websites that are restricted in some regions such as YouTube videos since the assigned IP addresses are from the United Kingdom

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. expatie.dll. is used by Expat Shield, If you shut down expatie.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
