The everquest2.exe process is the executable dispatcher file of the EverQuest 2 video game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment. When activated, the everquest2.exe process calls on other associated program files in order to load the EverQuest 2 application unto the system. The everquest2.exe process also instructs the system to reference the program logic data and directives stored in certain system and application-specific modular resources, in order for the EverQuest 2 software to properly perform its integrated functionalities. The source code that is stored in the everquest2.exe file is encoded with program logic compilation specifications and saved with data compression standards that are normally implemented into files that are stored in the EXE format.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. everquest2.exe. is used by Sony Online Entertainment EverQuest 2, If you shut down everquest2.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop everquest2.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sony Online Entertainment EverQuest 2, from your system.
