The process ev.dll, known as Preview files easily, belongs to software Explorer View by GetData Pty. Explorer View is software that allows users to preview instantly files and email attachments that are in the supported formats like PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD, PDF, Excel Visio, and DWG, even if the original software applications are not installed in the system. Explorer View is an add-on feature to Windows Explorer that allows the user to access a full instant preview of different files from within Explorer. The application is fully integrated with Windows File Explorer and the user does not have to wait for the original application to execute to display the contents. It allows users to copy and paste directly from the Windows Explorer preview into other applications, or print directly from the preview window. Users of this application are also able to play music, watch videos, and read documents from inside Windows Explorer. The capabilities of Explorer View enable users to keep the network clean from multiple unwanted tools, and reduces the risk of accessing unknown file types.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ev.dll. is used by Explorer View, If you shut down ev.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ev.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Explorer View, from your system.
