The file eteshell.dll, known as East-Tec Eraser, belongs to software East-Tec Eraser (version 2006, version 2005, version 2002) by East Technologies. The East-Tec Eraser is an advanced system cleaning utility that protects the user's online and offline privacy. This application ensures the permanent erasure of digital information and easily removes every trace of sensitive data from the computer. Information that is stored in the computer without the user's approval like Internet history, chatroom conversations, Web pages and sites, deleted email, and unwanted cookies are completely destroyed and removed from the system. It offers full support for popular browser like Internet Explorer, Netscape, America Online, MSN Explorer, and Opera, and peer to peer applications like Kazaa and Morpheus. East-Tec Eraser completely destroys any data from previously deleted files that are still accessible in the hard disk, from the recycle bin, or from unused disk areas. To erase files directly, the user can drag files and folders from Explorer and drop them on Eraser.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. eteshell.dll. is used by East-Tec Eraser, If you shut down eteshell.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop eteshell.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is East-Tec Eraser, from your system.
