The esmartum.exe file is a vital component of the program eSMART Usage Monitoring, also named as GACRegSetup, and is developed by Dell, Inc. This file is not only digitally signed by Dell, Inc. (VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer - G2), but also a module that works with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, including Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows 95, by Microsoft Corporation. Whichever Windows operating system is used, the esmartum.exe process needs to continue running in the background. It must not be terminated or stopped as it can disable the software eSMART Usage Monitoring, or its particular task, and also stop launching other modules that rely on it.
