The file erecoveryservice.exe, known as eRecoveryService, belongs to software eRecovery Service by Acer. The eReovery Service is a component of the Acer Empowering Technology program that is built into specific models of laptops and desktops from Acer. The eRecovery Service is a feature in the floating toolbar for the Empowering Technology program that allows the user to create backup operating system disks, create a backup of the system, or use the e-utilities in case of system recovery. This process has an icon on the toolbar, and is a handy feature since in most cases, the computer does not come with a set of backup disks. The eRecovery Service software allows users to restore the computer back to its factory default settings and configuration. These settings are pre-set by the manufacturer that could be altered or customized by the user. Using the eRecovery feature will result to the loss in data and applications that have been installed.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. erecoveryservice.exe. is used by eRecovery Service, If you shut down erecoveryservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop erecoveryservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is eRecovery Service, from your system.
