The eReovery Service is a component of the Acer Empowering Technology program that is built into specific models of laptops and desktops from Acer. The eRecovery Service is a feature in the floating toolbar for the Empowering Technology program that allows the user to create backup operating system disks, create a backup of the system, or use the e-utilities in case of system recovery. This process has an icon on the toolbar, and is a handy feature since in most cases, the computer does not come with a set of backup disks. The eRecovery Service software allows users to restore the computer back to its factory default settings and configuration. These settings are pre-set by the manufacturer that could be altered or customized by the user. Using the eRecovery feature will result to the loss in data and applications that have been installed.
