The file epmonitor.exe belongs to software Vodaphone Phone Book Manager. The Phone Book Manager is a feature of the Vodafone Simply Mobile phone that enables the user to store all phone contacts on the PC. This software allows the user to install a list of contacts on the PC as a backup in case the phone is lost or misplaced. This feature allows the user to edit the contacts on the PC and then transfer these to the phone, which is an easier process since the PC offers a large keyboard and screen that makes it easier use than the much smaller mobile phone keys and screen. The Phone Book Manager is automatically installed into the PC when the mobile phone is connected to the PC using the cable that is provided with the device. When software installation is completed, the "Contacts" button on the phone is illuminated red, which means a proper connection has been established between the mobile phone and the PC. The connection automatically transfers the list of contacts that exists in the phone to the PC, and the list can be updated from the PC to the phone or vice versa.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. epmonitor.exe. is used by Vodaphone Phone Book manager, If you shut down epmonitor.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop epmonitor.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Vodaphone Phone Book manager, from your system.
