The Power Manager allows the user to choose the power scheme that best suit the computing needs or to temporarily adjust the power scheme for the laptop. Adjustment of power settings can be done on the CPU speed, LCD brightness, turn off monitor, turn off hard disk, system standby and system hibernation. A lower CPU speed and lower brightness for the monitor will increase the battery life. Battery life can also be extended by switching off the connections to the wireless LAN, Bluetooth, cardbus, LAN, and firewire when these connections are not needed.
