The file epgclient.exe, known as DVB - T EPG Service Tool, belongs to software Hauppauge WinTV DVB - T EPG by Hauppauge. This process provides the user access to the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) for Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial (DVB-T), which is an over the air standard that is used mostly in Europe. The EPG is an interactive program guide that provides users of radio, television, and other media applications with continuously updated menus that display broadcast programming or scheduling information for current and upcoming programs. EPG broadcasts are done by specialized video character generation (CG) equipment that is housed within Hauppauge WinTV central television distribution facility. By tuning into a EPG menu channel, the user is provided with a menu that displays the list of current and upcoming TV programs on all available channels from Hauppauge WinTV. EPGs are available from television, mobiles, and on the Web through Online TV guides.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. epgclient.exe. is used by Hauppauge WinTV DVB-T EPG and Hauppauge WinTV DVB-T EPG Service Tool, If you shut down epgclient.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop epgclient.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Hauppauge WinTV DVB-T EPG and Hauppauge WinTV DVB-T EPG Service Tool, from your system.
