The file emupatchmixdsp.exe, known as PatchMix DSP Application, belongs to software PatchMix DSP by EMU Systems. PatchMix DSP is software that enables the PatchMIx DSP Mixer to connect with the computer when the user calls on the functionality of the device. The PatchMix DSP Mixer is a virtual console that performs all the typical functions of a conventional analog mixing console, with the input channels on the left-hand side, main and monitor mix output channels on the right. The mixer amplifies audio operations such as equalization, ASIO/WAVE routing, stereo panning, volume control, and main mix and monitor control without affecting other applications in the computer. PatchMix DSP is configurable, which allows the user to have as many input channels as needed, up to a maximum of sixteen channels in stereo. For each mixer channel created in the New Strip function, the user must choose one of the available input options from a selection of Physical sources that the Emu card offers such as stereo line inputs, mic/line inputs, or ADAT inputs.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. emupatchmixdsp.exe. is used by PatchMix DSP, If you shut down emupatchmixdsp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop emupatchmixdsp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PatchMix DSP, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as PatchMix DSP, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
