The ehrec.exe process is also known as the Media Center Host Module and it was created by the Microsoft Windows Operating System. The Microsoft Corporation is a widely known company and is famous for the Windows operating system. This operating system has developed the point and click graphical user interface to allow facilitative interaction between programs and files. This is a process belonging to the Microsoft Media Center and is commonly described as a recording process which is incorporated with the user’s Windows tuner. This program is considered to be a non-essential process, though it is advisable for it to remain intact and not be terminated unless in poses problems for the user’s computer system. This file is a digitally signed file and it is recommended for this process to stay within its place and not to remove the file from Microsoft Windows. This program is considered to be trusted and does not pose any threat within the user’s computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ehrec.exe. is used by Media Center Host Module, If you shut down ehrec.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
