Known by the service name Authentium AntiVirus SDK, particularly version 2, the process dvpapi.exe is a type of an executable file, and is a part of program Command AntiVirus for Windows, or Command AntiVirus SDK for Windows, which is developed by Authentium, Inc., or simply Authentium, also referred to as Command Software Systems. Command AntiVirus for Windows or Command AntiVirus SDK for Windows is basically a part of the Command Anti-Malware suite, which is a security software product that is able to scan and remove viruses, worms, and malware. The executable file dvpapi.exe is digitally signed by Authentium Inc - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer, and is considered a legitimate process, so it must not be terminated or stopped, unless it is causing problems or errors that affect the performance of the system. In addition, dvpapi.exe is compatible with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, which include Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, and Windows NT.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dvpapi.exe. is used by Command AntiVirus for Windows or Command AntiVirus SDK, If you shut down dvpapi.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dvpapi.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Command AntiVirus for Windows or Command AntiVirus SDK, from your system.
