The dsproct.sys process is a system file that is used by the Process Trigger Driver applet and the Microsoft Windows system, and the content of the dsproct.sys process is encoded with program logic compilation specifications implemented for source code stored in the SYS file format. The Process Trigger Driver applet is often bundled with the firmware and driver software packages of certain Dell hardware components and devices, and the dsproct.sys file is included in these packages. The program logic code stored in the dsproct.sys file and the Process Trigger Driver applet inform the Windows system about the modular resource requirements needed by the compatible Dell device or component for correctly performing its intended operations. The dsproct.sys file also communicates to the system the configuration settings and program files that need to be activated when a user requests for certain features from the supported Dell device or component.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dsproct.sys. is used by Dell Process Trigger Driver, If you shut down dsproct.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
