The executable dlp.exe file appears to be related to a software program known as Data Leak Prevention. The file could be the main executable for the software program. The software is licensed under a company known as Raytheon Company. The software protects sensitive data by applying security measures to prevent data leaks to unauthorized personnel, whether the leakage was intentionally done or not. The software basically protects data in three ways: endpoint use, network traffic and data at rest. Security measures include firewalls, antivirus applications and specific mechanisms to determine abnormal retrieval or access of such sensitive data. The file has a general installation folder of C:\Program Files, usually saved in the following way; C:\Program Files\DLP\2a2ae0e\dlp.exe. It has a known file size of approximately 222,720 bytes, for file version 8535.0.0.0. There are no other available data that can be found with regards to the executable dlp.exe file, or the software that installed it.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dlp.exe. is used by Data Leak Prevention, If you shut down dlp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dlp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Data Leak Prevention, from your system.
