The file dlaboiom.sys, known as Driver letter access command, is a Windows driver that belongs to software Sonic UDF Reader by Sonic Solutions. UDF Reader for Windows is software that enables certain Multi-Read CD-ROM drives to read UDF formatted CD-RW and DVD discs. This is popular software that is usually bundled with the company's DirectCD software. UDF (Universal Disc Format) is an open, vendor-neutral file system for computer data storage for a broad range of media, which has been the most widely used format for DVDs and newer optical discs, supplanting ISO 9660. UDF is sometimes called 'packet writing', a term that refers to the way UDF format incrementally adds data to a disc. Packet writing allows multiple writes within a single track. Attempts to access data from a CD or DVD in the UDF format using another machine that does not have UDF support software will most likely be unsuccessful.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dlaboiom.sys. is used by Sonic UDF Reader, If you shut down dlaboiom.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dlaboiom.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sonic UDF Reader, from your system.
