Device Detector version 2 is the service name of the executable file devdtct2.exe, which is a part of the program Olympus Device Detector (versions 2 and 3), also known as Device Detector, CS881X & MTM80X Driver, and is developed by Olympus Imaging Corporation, or otherwise called as Olympus Optical Co., or simply Olympus. Olympus Device Detector is installed in most products created by Olympus, which is used to detect the active or current connection of a speech device, such as voice recorder, music player and microphone, to the USB port of a Windows computer, in which the program is found. Once detected, it opens a client with a visible window to have the plugged device in question. This task of the devdtct2.exe file is somewhat essential, so it needs to be kept stored on the computer once it is installed, along with other components bundled in the software Olympus Device Detector.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. devdtct2.exe. is used by Olympus Device Detector, If you shut down devdtct2.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop devdtct2.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Olympus Device Detector, from your system.
