What is  daemonupd.exe

Many users reported that their anti-malware tools flag the daemonupd.exe process as a malicious program related to variants of the TROJ_GEN.R01C8D4 application and the TROJ_GEN.RC1CDLQ program, which are families of Trojans and worms known to infect unprotected Windows-based computers with outdated OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. Other users claim that their system security tools identify the daemonupd.exe process as a malware item that is distributed with components of the HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic program and the Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Carberp.q application, which are other families of Trojans and worms reported to be embedded with functions for exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of unprotected Windows-based computers, especially those with an unsecured Windows System Registry and missing or outdated OS security certificates. In both instances, these users claim that the daemonupd.exe process implements its autorun or self-activating code into the system upon its initial placement, in order to create and inject keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of the unprotected computer, and these registry strings are said to enable the daemonupd.exe malware to autoamtically initialize during system startup and to operate as a cloacked background process during system runtime. These users state that the daemonupd.exe malware is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the unprotected computer, and is able to use these exploited system vulnerabilities to download more malicious applications unto the compromised system or to wait for directives from predesignated remote servers that are allegedly managed by the authors of the daemonupd.exe malware.
