The d3dx9_2.dll file has been classified by the anti-malware tools of many users as a malicious application related to variants of the PAK_Generic.005 program, which is a family of Trojans and worms reported to infect unprotected Windows-based computers with outdated or missing OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. Other users claim that their system security programs flag the d3dx9_2.dll file as a malware item associated with the Win32/Boaxxe.B application, which is another family of Trojans and worms known to be embedded with spyware functionalities. In both cases, these users state that the d3dx9_2.dll malware is distributed with executable component files integrated with autorun or self-activating functionalities. These EXE component processes of the d3dx9_2.dll malware are said to be capable of creating and inserting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of the unprotected computer upon their successful placement and activation in the system, and these users claim that these registry strings enable the d3dx9_2.dll malware and its executable component processes to autoamtically initialize during system startup and to operate as cloacked background processes during system runtime. The d3dx9_2.dll malware is also said to be capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and outdated Web browsers of the unprotected Windows-based computer, and these exploited system vulnerabilities are said to allow the d3dx9_2.dll malware to download more malicious applications unto the infected computer, secretly gather and transmit private user details and Internet surfing information from predesignated remote servers that are alleged to be managed by the authors of the d3dx9_2.dll malware, or wait for directives from these remote servers that can be performed by the d3dx9_2.dll malware in the compromised machine.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. d3dx9_2.dll. is used by PAK_Generic.005 Trojan and Win32/Boaxxe.B Trojan, If you shut down d3dx9_2.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop d3dx9_2.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PAK_Generic.005 Trojan and Win32/Boaxxe.B Trojan, from your system.
