Many users reported that their system security tools classify the cubedesktophooks.dll file as a malicious application associated with obtrusive adware items and spyware programs known to be distributed as malicious BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) and Web browser hijackers that are embedded with keylogging functionalities. The cubedesktophooks.dll malware is also said to mostly infect unprotected Windows-based computers with missing OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. These users claim that the cubedesktophooks.dll malware is deployed into these systems with EXE component processes that have autorun functionalities implemented by these executable component files upon their successful placement and activation in the unprotected Windows-based computer. These self-activating features are said to allow these EXE component processes to create and inject keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry. These registry strings are said to enable the cubedesktophooks.dll malware and its executable component files to automatically initialize during system startup, to operate as hidden or cloacked background processes during system runtime, and for the cubedesktophooks.dll malware to latch itself unto the installed Web browsers of the compromised computer whenever these applications are loaded by the user unto the Windows-based system. These same users also claim that this allows the cubedesktophooks.dll malware to secretly gather private user data and Internet surfing information from these Web browsers, as well as to record keyboard inputs performed by the user while browsing the Internet. According to some of these users, the cubedesktophooks.dll malware is also capable of exploiting and using the unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the unprotected system to transmit these covertly collected details to remote servers that are said to be managed by the authors of the cubedesktophooks.dll malware.
