What is  ctfldr.exe

The ctfldr.exe process file is an executable file belonging to the software Ares p2p for Windows developed by Ares Development Group. Ares is a descendant of Gnutella, and is mainly a P2P (Peer to Peer) file sharing application. Upon initialization after installation, Ares allows the user to automatically scan the system for files to be shared on the network. To communicate with other users, a multi-chat client feature enables the user to connect to one of numerous available channels. Ares also has a wide preview screen, which the user can adjust according to preference. With this feature, the user is then able to preview downloaded files or ensuring that correct files are downloaded. Other features include a decentralized and fast network and a built-in browser. However, some users report that connectivity problems occur which result in unsuccessful downloads and improper file searches. Unlike Gnutella, Ares has a smaller network, thus users have a limited choice of file and download sources. Some users also report that the system may be corrupted and compromised when an infected file is accidentally downloaded.
