The file ctcmsgo.exe is a component of Creative MediaSource Go utility bundled with the array of audio devices from Creative Technology. The ctcmsgo.exe file functions as the driver for the Creative soundcards installed on the computer. It is compatible with all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. When installed, a quicklaunch bar that comes with the series cards provides easy access to the software and sound card settings is displayed. The MediaSource software is a user-invoked program that is used to play back music with MP3, WAV, DVD-Audio, WMA and other media formats. Some users report that the application is always initiated upon startup, unless the user modifies the settings according to preference. In most cases, the program is considered safe and does not present any threat to the computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ctcmsgo.exe. is used by Creative MediaSource Go, If you shut down ctcmsgo.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
