What is  crtdsp.dll

The crtdsp.dll file has been flagged by the system security tools of many users as a malicious program associated with a variant of the AdWare.Win32.Agent.bb application, which is a family of obtrusive adware components, Web browser hijackers and malicious BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. These users claim that the crtdsp.dll malware is distributed with executable component processes capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry upon their successful placement and activation in the computer. These registry strings are said to enable the crtdsp.dll malware and its EXE component processes to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as hidden background processes during system runtime, or while the crtdsp.dll malware is gathering Internet surfing information among other private user details from the Web browsers of the unprotected system, especially those with missing OS security certificates. These users also state that the crtdsp.dll malware is embedded with the ability to exploit unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and use these system vulnerabilities to transmit these secretly collected private user details and Internet surfing information to predesignated remote servers that are managed by the authors of the crtdsp.dll malware. This is then said to allow these remote servers to transmit data back to the infected system after processing these private user details and Internet surfing information, in order for the pop-up ads displayed by the crtdsp.dll malware while the user is browsing the Internet to be relevant to the user's bookmarked Web pages, regularly visited websites and previous Internet search engine queries. Other users claim that their anti-malware tools classify the crtdsp.dll file as a component of a backdoor rootkit program associated with the Hacktool.Rootkit application.
