The confluent_elmd.exe file is an executable process that is integrated into the system by the Visual Thought software, which is a Windows program classified as a drawing and CAD (Computer Aided Design) engineering tool that was developed by Confluent with a set of features for creating digital images and exporting drawing or engineering design projects into widely used digital image file formats like GIF, JPEG, EPS and WMF among others. The Confluent Visual Thought software is also distributed in a version for Unix-based computers. The confluent_elmd.exe process is specifically deployed into the system by the Confluent Visual Thought software as the executable program dispatcher file of the Confluent License Manager application, which is a small program built into the Confluent Visual Thought software, and this application is responsible for implementing license management functionalities into the Confluent Visual Thought software and the Windows-based system. The confluent_elmd.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Confluent Visual Thought software, and the Confluent License Manager application checks for user registration and distributed license keys for the Confluent Visual Thought software that is installed in the system, and this application also notifies or alerts users when it does not find user registration details and license keys that are required for the Confluent Visual Thought software to correctly work in the Windows-based computer, in order to prompt users to register the program or enter the license keys distributed to the user upon acquiring the Confluent Visual Thought software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. confluent_elmd.exe. is used by Confluent Visual Thought and Confluent License Manager Application, If you shut down confluent_elmd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop confluent_elmd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Confluent Visual Thought and Confluent License Manager Application, from your system.
