What is  commserv.exe

The commserv.exe process is an executable file that has been flagged by the system security tools of many users as a malicious program associated with a variant of the Trojan.Win32.Agent.ye application, which is a family of Trojans known to infect unprotected Windows-based computers with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and outdated system security certificates. These users claim that the commserv.exe file is encoded with self-activating functionalities that this malware item is programmed to implement during system startup, in order to continue operating in the Windows-based computer as a hidden background process during system runtime. These users also state that the commserv.exe process is capable of automatically initializing during system startup because of certain keys and entries that this malware is said to be capable of creating and injecting into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the unprotected system. These users also reported that the commserv.exe process, while operating as a hidden background process, is capable of finding and exploiting system vulnerabilities like unencrypted TCP/IP network ports tht this malware can then use to initiate contact with predesignated remote servers and download more malicious applications unto the system from these remote server locations, which are managed by the authors of the commserv.exe process.

How can I stop commserv.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. commserv.exe. is used by Trojan.Win32.Agent.ye, If you shut down commserv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop commserv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan.Win32.Agent.ye, from your system.
