The cnxetp.sys process is a driver file implemented into the system by the firmware utilities and device driver software components that are distributed with Access Runner ADSL modems equipped with Conexant chipsets and USB connectivity support. The cnxetp.sys file is specifically deployed into the system as the Conexant USB WDM driver, which works with Conexant AccessRunner USB WAN/LAN adapter filter drivers, in order to implement the network connectivity and management functionalities of these ADSL modem devices into the Windows-based computer. The cnxetp.sys file is placed in the system upon the installation of the firmware components and device driver software utilities of these Conexant-powered ADSL modems, such as certain Access Runner ADSL network devices that are implemented with USB connectivity support. This means the cnxetp.sys file is packaged along with other resource files, libraries and SYS driver utilities into the installer distributions of these Access Runner USB ADSL firmware components and device driver software utilities.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cnxetp.sys. is used by Access Runner USB ADSL Modem Firmware/Driver Software and Conexant USB WDM Driver, If you shut down cnxetp.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cnxetp.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Access Runner USB ADSL Modem Firmware/Driver Software and Conexant USB WDM Driver, from your system.
