Many user reports state that the cnshook.dll file has been classified by widely used system security tools as a malicious program associated with a variant of the Win32/CnsMin application, which is a family of spyware programs known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and outdated Web browsers. These same user reports also claim that the cnshook.dll file is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and hijacking outdated Web browsers of the infected computer, in order to transmit private user details and Internet surfing information that the cnshook.dll file has secretly collected from the infected system and its hijacked outdated Web browsers while running as a hidden background process during system runtime, and these gathered details are said to be transmitted by the cnshook.dll file to remote servers that are managed by its authors. Other user groups state that their anti-malware applications flag the cnshook.dll file as a malicious program associated with a variant of the Generic PWS.y!w program, which is another family of spyware components that are known to steal confidential information and private user details like passwords and Internet surfing details from unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated Web browsers and mismanaged Windows System Registry keys and entries.
