Many users have reported that their anti-malware tools flag the cnetcf.dll file as a malicious application associated with the Win32/Boaxxe.B program, which is a family of Trojans known to infect unprotected Windows-based computers. These same users claim that the cnetcf.dll file is disguised as a legitimate DLL (Dynamic Link Library) module, in order to trick users into thinking that this malicious program is a valid system file when seen as an actively operating background process in the Windows Task Manager's Processes tab, or when found in a directory or sub directory under the system partition. These users also state that the cnetcf.dll file is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the infected system, in order to initiate contact with predesignated remote servers that are managed by its authors, so as to download more malicious programs unto the system from these remote servers. Some users also reported that when the cnetcf.dll file is idle, it is actually waiting for further instructions from these remote servers that the cnetcf.dll file will begin to perform in the infected Windows-based system upon receipt of new directives from its authors. Other user groups state that their system security tools classify the cnetcf.dll file as a variant of the Trojan.Win32.BHO.gsm application, which is another family of Trojans reported to hijack outdated Web servers and exploit unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of unprotected Windows-based computers, in order to download more malware items unto the computer from remote servers operated by the authors of the cnetcf.dll file.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cnetcf.dll. is used by Win32/Boaxxe.B Trojan and Trojan.Win32.BHO.gsm, If you shut down cnetcf.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cnetcf.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Win32/Boaxxe.B Trojan and Trojan.Win32.BHO.gsm, from your system.
