What is  cmwie.dll

The cmwie.dll file is a component of the Content Management Wizard software, which is a Windows program classified as a malicious application by the system security tools of many users. These user reports state that the cmwie.dll file has been flagged by reliable anti-malware applications as a variant of the Content Management Wizard program, which has been reported as a family of obtrusive adware items. These users also claim that the cmwie.dll file can hijack outdated Internet Explorer Web browsers upon its successful placement and activation in the unprotected Windows-based system, in order to display pop-up ads while the user is browsing the Internet. Some of these users state that the cmwie.dll file is also capable of automatically initializing during system startup because of certain keys and entries that the cmwie.dll file is said to be capable of creating and injecting into the Windows System Registry upon its initial placement and execution in the system, and these registry entries and keys are said to instruct the system to allow the cmwie.dll file to automatically activate during system startup and operate as a hidden background process during system runtime.
