What is  cmicnfg.cpl

The file cmicnfg.cpl is part of the drivers for C-Media audio cards, usually those that are pre-installed on computers where the audio cards are integrated into the motherboard. The file is a module of the process that displays a control panel applet on the System Tray. The process is generally called CmiCnfg DLL. The process provides the user with options for controlling the features of their in-built audio cards. There have been quite a few reports where the file was the cause for a system error, specifically written as such: “Error loading cmicnfg.cpl. The specified module could not be found.” There were also instances where users encountered the Blue Screen of Death. For the most part, the errors were found to have been caused by updating the components of the audio hardware driver. The file may be found in the following path: C:\Windows\System 32\cmicnfg.cpl. Average size of the file is 5.072 KB for version number 1.0.47.2.
