The cmgrdian.exe file is deployed into the system by the McAfee Internet Security Suite software as a component of the McAfee Windows Guardian application, and this executable file runs as a background process that is listed in the Processes tab of the Windows Task Manager as McAfee Guardian Agent. The McAfee Internet Secuirty Suite software is a Windows program classified as a system security program that is integrated with a set of tools for monitoring the system, detecting and blocking possible viruses, backdoor rootkits, worms, Trojans, spyware applications and other malicious items, in order to protect the Windows-based computer against potential hacker attacks, data security risks, user privacy threats, system stability issues, data loss and corruption that may be caused by these malicious programs. The McAfee Windows Guardian application is a background program that assists the McAfee Internet Security Suite software in integrating its real time detection and monitoring functionalities into the Windows-based system, and the cmgrdian.exe process, which is the McAfee Guardian Agent, deploys the context menu items, configuration tabs and control panel options into the Windows System Tray, via an icon, for quick and easy user access.
