Many users claim that their system security tools flag the cmcfg3.dll file as a component of a malicious application called Trojan Horse Downloader Delf.12, which is a family of Trojans known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems. These users reported slow system performance and difficulty in using their Web browsers to connect to the Internet while their systems were infected by the cmcfg3.dll file, which they also state as capable of automatically initializing during system startup because of certain registry keys and entries the cmcfg3.dll file cna create and inject into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the Windows-based computer. These users also claim that the cmcfg3.dll file is capable of operating as a hidden background process while this malicious program is actively searching for unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and outdated Web browsers that it can exploit and use to contact predesignated remote servers. Upon establishing communications with these remote servers, which are managed by its authors as stated by these users, the cmcfg3.dll file is said to download more malicious programs unto the system from these remote servers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cmcfg3.dll. is used by Trojan Horse Downloader Delf.12, If you shut down cmcfg3.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cmcfg3.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan Horse Downloader Delf.12, from your system.
