The cm3_tray.exe process is an EXE component file that is bundled with the firmware utilities and device driver software components of certain Buffalo Airstation products, which are wireless networking devices that are manufactured for Windows-based computers. The cm3_tray.exe file is deployed into the system by these Buffalo Airstation firmware components and device driver resources as the executable program dispatcher file of the Client Manager3 Tray Manager application, which is a small program built into these Buffalo Airstation drivers and firmware utilities, and this application integrates the networking functionalities of the Buffalo Airstation device into the client system and implements the context menu items and control panel options of the Buffalo Airstation device into the Windows System Tray via an icon that remains active while the client system is currently using the networking features provided by the Buffalo Airstation device. The cm3_tray.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of the associated Buffalo Airstation firmware components and driver utilities.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cm3_tray.exe. is used by Buffalo Airstation Firmware/Driver Software and Buffalo Airstation Client Manager3 Tray Manager Application, If you shut down cm3_tray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
