The clean.kmd process is a proprietary file that is implemented into the system by the Kazaa Lite software, which is a Windows program classified as a P2P (Peer to Peer) application with a set of features that can allow users to search and download various content materials like videos, MP3s, ebooks, software installers and so on, as well as to share their own files and folders with other Kazaa Lite users. The clean.kmd file is specifically deployed by the Kazaa Lite program to assist in the integration of its embedded set of P2P file searching and downloading functionalities into the Windows-based system. The clean.kmd file is placed in the system upon the installation of the Kazaa Lite application, which also means the clean.kmd file is among the component files and resource libraries that are bundled into the installer distribution packages of the Kazaa Lite software. The clean.kmd file is integrated with data encoding specifications and program logic compilation standards that are implemented into Kazaa Media Desktop source code, which is saved in the KMD file format.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. clean.kmd. is used by Kazaa Lite, If you shut down clean.kmd, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop clean.kmd, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Kazaa Lite, from your system.
