What is  cidrive32.exe

The cidrive32.exe process is an executable file that has been flagged by the system security tools of many users as a malicious program associated with the TROJ_VBINJECT.X application, which is a family of Trojans known to infect Windows-based systems and inject malicious code into legitimate DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules of the system. These users also reported that the cidrive32.exe process is capable of automatically initializing during system startup because of certain keys and entries this malicious program can create and inject into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in the system. The same users state that the cidrive32.exe process, upon its initialization, is capable of operating as a hidden background process, in order to search for system vulnerabilities that it can exploit, such as unprotected TCP/IP network ports that can be used by the cidrive32.exe process to initiate contact with predesignated remote servers managed by its authors and to download more malware items from those remote servers. Other users also reported that their own system security tools classify the cidrive32.exe process as a component or variant of the W32.IRCBot program and the Trojan.ADH application, which are families of Trojans and backdoor rootkits.
