Developed by Toshiba Corporation, cfswmgr.exe is the executable file that loads the Toshiba ConfigFree Switch Manager, the software for the network shifting functionality from one terminal to another when the user is changing networks. Toshiba ConfigFree’s set of utilities helps fix networking issues and provides user control of network adapters to enable wireless connection to laptops via a Toshiba Projector, and facilitate the setting up of the network configuration profiles. These configuration profiles are designed for multi-network laptop connections for users that are frequently changing connection venues (business trips, wireless hot spots, travels, hotels, cafes, etc.). The ConfigFree switch feature application can set up different network configurations and Internet accesses, and is interchangeable in between laptop wireless locations. There are reports that there are some malware that camouflage as CFSwMgr.exe, specifically those programs versions that can be found in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. It is recommended to use security software programs in similar situations.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cfswmgr.exe. is used by ConfigFree Switch Manager, If you shut down cfswmgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cfswmgr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ConfigFree Switch Manager, from your system.
