What is cfr.exe
The cfr.exe process is an executable program file integrated into the system by the KLite Codec Pack software, which is a Windows application comprised of a set of video and audio encoder and decoder tools designed to implement compatibility support into the Windows-based system for a wide variety of video and audio content file formats. The KLite Codec Pack, upon its installation in the system, places the cfr.exe process as the program dispatcher file of the Windows Setup API application, which is a small program built into the KLite Codec Pack, and this application is responsible for implementing compatibility support into various built-in and third party Windows applications in the system that may require these audio and video decoders/encoders. The KLite Codec Pack suite of audio/video encoders/decoders can allow Microsoft Windows to play audio and video content in different file formats, since it extends the built-in compatibility support of Microsoft Windows for viewing audio and video content files.
