The centrino_hc.exe process is an executable program file implemented into the system upon the installation of the firmware utilities and device driver software resources that are bundled with certain laptops equipped with Centrino-compliant motherboard chipsets, network adapters and Intel Core processors. The centrino_hc.exe process is specifically deployed as the EXE program dispatcher file of the Centrino Hardware Control application, which is a small program built into these associated motherboard chipset drivers and firmware components, and the Centrino Hardware Control application comes packaged with the Intel vPro software that is used by IT administrators and network personnel to remotely manage the hardware components of Centrino business laptops. The centrino_hc.exe process and the Centrino Hardware Control software assists the firmware utilities and driver software components of supported Centrino laptops integrated with Intel vPro technology in deploying its secure remote access functionalities into the Windows-based system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. centrino_hc.exe. is used by Centrino Hardware Control Application and Intel vPro, If you shut down centrino_hc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop centrino_hc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Centrino Hardware Control Application and Intel vPro, from your system.
