The cdrom_mon.exe file is an executable application process integrated into the system by client programs that are distributed by Smart Bro, Inc. to its customers and subscribers. The firmware utilities and device driver software components of ZTE USB modem devices use the cdrom_mon.exe process and these Smart Bro applications, and these ZTE USB modems are bundled with the subscription plans and other data service packages that are offered by Smart Bro, Inc. This means the cdrom_mon.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of these Smart Bro applications and is specifically deployed in the system to monitor the status of the ZTE USB modems that are connected to the Windows-based computer. The cdrom_mon.exe file, upon its activation by the associated Smart Bro application, operates as a background process during system runtime, in order to detect all connected ZTE USB modems and constantly monitor the status of these devices.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cdrom_mon.exe. is used by Smart Bro Client and ZTE USB Modem Firmware/Driver Software, If you shut down cdrom_mon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cdrom_mon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Smart Bro Client and ZTE USB Modem Firmware/Driver Software, from your system.
