The executable process file camtray.exe (version 3.4.1.0), is identified to be as Creative Camera Launcher Application or PC-CAM Center Launcher Application that is also known to be as CreativeCam Detector is part of the software PC-CAM Center, Creative PC-CAM Center or Creative Cam Detector as developed by the Company Creative Technology Ltd.. The process file is found running in the Task Manager as the process camtray.exe which has a visible window, that shows an icon in the taskbar located near the clock, however the process is not considered to be a Windows system file. The process file has 4 versions namely, version 3.5.11 (Creative Camera Launcher Application with 258,048 KB), version 3.50.08 (245,760 KB), version 3.50.06 (same as the second version although with a different MD5 sign), and the latest at 299,008 KB version 3.60.07. The process file is found to be located in Program Files\Creative\Shared Files Folder and the subfolder C:\Program Files with a size on Windows 7/XP of 184,320 bytes (69% of all incidences), 245,760 bytes, 258,048 bytes, 53,248 bytes or 299,008 bytes. During the start up, Creative Web Cam Tray is not required, and it has a function to be able to record keyboard inputs.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. camtray.exe. is used by Creative WebCam Tray, If you shut down camtray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop camtray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Creative WebCam Tray, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Creative WebCam Tray, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application.
