What is  bootcamp.exe

The bootcamp.exe file is an instance of an executable and a Windows process known by the internal name Boot Camp Manager, which is a component of the program Boot Camp, and is developed by Apple for Mac OS and Windows computers. Boot Camp Manager, or bootcamp.exe, is the process that guides a user through non-destructive re-partitioning of the hard disk drive, which includes the resizing of any existing HFS+ partition, and using a particular Mac OS, either X Leopards or Snow Leopard disc to install on drivers of Windows PC. This tool for device drivers for Windows hardware also includes an applet, and is found in the Windows control panel, so a user is able to select the boot operating system to use. As a file compatible with Windows computers and laptops, the bootcamp.exe can be installed on any system, once the software Boot Camp is downloaded. This file stores itself on Windows folder location, usually C:\Program Files, and runs automatically during the startup of the computer, and processes its task, as well as executes other modules that enable the whole program.

How can I stop bootcamp.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bootcamp.exe. is used by Boot Camp, If you shut down bootcamp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop bootcamp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Boot Camp, from your system.
