The bmupdate.exe process is one of the files that are bundled in the program Visioneer Scanner Hardware Driver. This particular driver has the main function to identify any scanner hardware that is newly installed. The file bmupdate.exe provides updates and new upgrades which are more legit for the scanner driver. This saves the user from downloading the wrong or malicious files on the Internet. It can also save the user from wasting time in looking for upgrades or updates associated with the program. After the scanner driver software is installed, this file inspects if all of the files of the application is up to date or compatible with the setting of the computer system. It also checks any files on the database that are updated. Once all these functions are completed, the file becomes inactive as long as the user does not manually scan or look for any updates or reinstall the software.
