The bgshellext.dll file is the process called BullGuard Shell Extension that is associated with BullGuard software developed by BullGuard. This process file is found in the C:\Program Files subfolder. Known sizes for this file include 57,344 bytes and 63,056 bytes with 40% occurrence. DLL or dynamic link library files are files that are easy to install or arrange. They contain functions that other programs can use. A DLL file can inject itself into other running processes to change or control their functions. This program is not visible. You can access the BullGuard program on Windows Control Panel. BullGuard is a computer software and security company founded by Theis Sondergaard and Morten Lund in 2002. The company developes anti-virus and Internet security software for both businesses and home users. The bgshellext.dll file has digital signatures by BullGuard Ltd. with certificates issued by GlobalSign Time Stamping Authority and by VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer – G2. Automatic startup locations for this process include HKCU Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers, ContextMenuHandlers and HKLM *\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bgshellext.dll. is used by BullGuard, If you shut down bgshellext.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop bgshellext.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is BullGuard, from your system.
