The bdpredir.sys file is the process called BitDefender Proxy Redirector Driver that is used by the application BitDefender 10 Free Edition developed by Softwin SRL. This system file is a Windows driver. A driver is a part of a software that can communicate with other hardware devices. The location of bdpredir.sys file is in the subfolder C:\Program Files. The size of this file is 25,984 bytes. You can access this driver under Services on the Windows Control Panel. It is not a visible process. BitDefender 10 Free Edition uses scanning engines certified by ICSA Labs to detect viruses. This security software can scan and remove viruses. It performs scheduled scanning that allow you to schedule the drive scans or full system scan when computer is not in use. You can also scan files and folders immediately. You can isolate infected files in quarantine. These files can be sent to BitDefender Labs for further analysis.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bdpredir.sys. is used by BitDefender 10 Free Edition, If you shut down bdpredir.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop bdpredir.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is BitDefender 10 Free Edition, from your system.
