The process avscanningservice.exe, which is termed Preventon AV Scanning Service, also Digital-Defender AV Scanning Service, UtilTool AV Scanning Service, or Energizersoft Tech AV Scanning Service, is related to the functioning of the software Preventon AV Scanning Service, or AV Engine Scanning Service, which is developed by Preventon Technologies Limited, or Digital-Defender UtilTool Energizersoft Tech. Upon the installation of the program that houses the process, the avscanningservice.exe file, which is considered to be an essential and legitimate process, is added into the system, usually found in C:\Program Files or C:\Windows, and executes itself to specify the assigned or encoded tasks, which is to scan files and other data that are stored on the computer. It is strongly recommended to keep the avscanningservice.exe file in the system, although it is normally not seen in the Windows explorer. If it starts to infect other modules or saved data, the avscanningservice.exe process must be scanned to see any virus or spyware, and uninstall it, before it damages all information in the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. avscanningservice.exe. is used by Preventon AV Scanning Service or AV Engine Scanning Service, If you shut down avscanningservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop avscanningservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Preventon AV Scanning Service or AV Engine Scanning Service, from your system.
