The avgui.exe launches the AVG User Interface. This is file belongs to the software that installs AVG Internet Security. This file is essential because it provides you with access buttons to the various features of your software, particularly scanning options, i.e. Quick Scan or Deep Scan, scheduled scan and such. It also displays a System Tray icon so you can easily launch the UI when you want your AVG software to perform certain tasks. File installation folder, by default, is C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG2012\avgui.exe. For version 12.0.0.2190, file size on disk is 4.17 MB. RAM size is 11.27 MB and CPU resource usage is 0.45001%. There are approximately 364 GDI objects related to the avgui.exe file. Its average context switches per second is 79. The process uses the parent process supplied by Microsoft which is explore.exe. It runs as a startup service and displays the run identifier “AVG_UI.” This version executes as a 64-bit program, compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. avgui.exe. is used by AVG User Interface, If you shut down avgui.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop avgui.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AVG User Interface, from your system.
