The avastantivirus.exe file is a process called avast!Antivirus.exe that belongs to the application avast!Antivirus that is authored by an unknown developer. When the infected attachment executes, the avast!Antivirus.exe is copied to the Windows system folder and alters the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet\Services\avast!Antivirus to automatically load on the next startup. It can also download various malicious files into the system.
